- Topic: 4 methods, or more, of repairing a broken pivot on a clock wheel.
- Description: The “One Day Class” for Saturday September 14th will be: Using the Lathe for Clock Repair. It will include sharpening and the use of the hand graver. It will also give hints on purchasing a lathe for clock repair-ing and give the participants the opportunity to use various types of lathes such as the Watchmakers lathe, the Unimat, the Taug, and the Sherline. Accessories for each of these types will be discussed, as well as their costs and availability. Two turning exer-cises will be included to hone or develop hand turning skills. Participants are encour-aged to bring their own lathes and gravers. Those without them will be allowed to use the instructor’s equipment. Questions concerning the class should be addressed to Dave Gorrell, the instructor, at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Class will be from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 45 minute lunch break. The last hour of the class will be “Open Bench” so bring your watch and clock problems and we will endeavor to solve them for you.
